Filigree is the art of crafting very fine threads of silver or gold which are cut, bent, twisted and welded to create delicate and elaborate designs with a lacy appearance that are true works of art. It is an exclusively manual work that requires much skill and creativity. Currently filigree can be found more easily in northern Portugal.
