1. What is Alma Nostra?
Alma Nostra is an online store selling mainly artisanal and traditional Portuguese products. Most products available online are part of our imagery and can easily relate to our memories and customs as a traditional country. We also try to value the products which identify each region, which by its own unique characteristics step beyond their utilitarian function becoming objects of cultural interest.

 



2. How does the site registration work?
To register on the website you should use the "Your Account" link. The process is simple and consists in filling the user's personal data in the submitted form. Only the necessary data for us to contact and recognize the costumer in the most efficient possible manner is required. The user is responsible for its own account access information (e-mail address and password) to ensure data confidentiality. This information is vital to access the personal account on the website during each visit.

 



3. What are the delivery times?
The deadline for shipping is three days after receiving proof of payment in case all items are in stock. If any of the items is not in stock, the buyer will be directly contacted and informed of the delivery schedule. All shipments are made by CTT in Priority Registered Mail. This service ensures higher security to the shipment and is also treated as a priority which makes it faster. Postage costs are borne by the buyer. The cost is calculated by the weight of the goods.

 



4.  Do I get the exact same product I see in the picture?
The photos allow you to view each product in detail. However, you can find few differences in certain products whose raw materials and artisanal manufacturing process influence the final result. Due to the artisanal nature of some products each of these are unique. In cases where there are differences, they are virtually undetectable and do not influence the overall look of the whole product.



 

5. Do prices include VAT?
All available items are exempt from VAT (Article 53º of the Portuguese CIVA) so the displayed price on each product is the final payable amount. The cost of postage, which is borne by the buyer, is then added to the value of the goods.

 



6. How do I pay for a purchase?
You can choose to pay using PayPal or by bank transfer.
Payment using PayPal includes VISA, Mastercard and American Express. This external entity manages the customer’s data and the payment process. It allows any registered consumer to securely and conveniently send and receive online payments. It is the best known online payment system, internationally tested and proven, with millions of users worldwide.

7. Could I have my products for sale at the Alma Nostra website?
Our pursuit for traditional, handcrafted products is constant, so new items will gradually be added to the site. This research is done locally by us but we are fully prepared to cooperate with any craftsman or producer who is interested in having their products for sale on the Alma Nostra website.
