Having 10 and a half million inhabitants, Portugal is a small country but has a huge cultural diversity essentially due to the fact that it is one of the oldest nations in Europe. Through here, people from different backgrounds have passed throughout the centuries. Each region has its own identity and culture and its characteristics are so distinct that we can easily identify and value them even more in the context of globalization.

Handicraft represents the richest part of each region showing the relationship people have with their land and their culture. Despite being recognized as a developed country, rurality prevails in some areas but is less a weakness than a means of preserving traditional crafts and methods that remain unchanged.

Because we are proudly certain of our country’s potential we would like to make visible anonymous artists from around the country and offer what’s best from each region. Our ultimate goal will be to show and provide genuine items that step beyond their utilitarian or decorative function to become objects of cultural and social interest.
